Tom and Frank McLaury are part of one of the biggest Old West stories—the so-called Gunfight at the OK Corral. Big is a term that doesn’t exactly fit the boys, who bit the dust that day.
McLaury biographer Paul Lee Johnson says that Frank was only about 5’3” while Tom was about 5’5”. Compare that to their opponents on October 26, 1881; the Earps were all about 6’ tall.
When it came to size or the shootout, the McLaurys came out on the short end of the stick.
