On February 25, 1881, after an earlier altercation inside, faro dealer Luke Short, shot and killed fellow gambler Charley Storms outside the Oriental Saloon at the intersection of Fifth and Allen Streets in Tombstone, A.T. As the body was carried away the faro games went on as if nothing happened. More men died within spitting distance of this corner than at any other street location in the territory, making it Arizona’s deadliest address.
