While the subject matter of this work is fascinating and the photography is top-notch, I was somewhat disappointed in this 160-page book.
The author certainly knows his subject, but I would have liked to have seen more text. One of my biggest gripes with this volume is that the photo captions are downright silly. Rather than educating us about the firearms or other pictured subjects that aren’t immediately evident, the caption merely gives the model of the gun, sometimes with just a tidbit of information about it. When the same firearm or subject is shown in a second view, the caption is duplicated from the first photo. I also found a couple of errors in firearms identification. It’s a nice book to look at, but frankly, I expected something better.
