Brenda Jackson Mesa, Arizona Guns of the Old West by Charles Edward Chapel is one I keep on my shelf for reference.  For years, I’ve also consulted The Look of the Old West by William Foster-Harris, a treasure chest of information, not just about weapons but a myriad of subjects.
