seventrailswestIf a student of the exploration and expansion of the American West were to have only one book to cover it all, this big volume would be the one to serve the purpose.

Based mostly on several particular major routes, this book extends beyond the famed trails with further coverage of other related and admirable achievements. The text is succinct and well-written. All maps, illustrations and photographs are pertinent. Reading like an adventure novel, this book is a fine example of an all-inclusive history presented in a rich and interesting manner without being boring. —Chuck Lewis
