So the real story is that the Dalton Gang was led by a woman, and she was secretly married to Bob Dalton and bore him a daughter. Her sister, who later married Emmett Dalton, helped set up the deaths of four or five people—including their own parents. And one of the girls was the legendary “sixth rider” who went to Coffeyville on that infamous day in 1892, although she didn’t actually participate in the shoot-out.
