This Christian Romance is a light-hearted spoof featuring Essie Speckelmeyer, a 35-year-old Texas spinster doggedly avoiding marriage until Mr. Right comes along. When an oil gusher is discovered in her backyard, Essie becomes rich as well as a general manager of her new oil drilling business. When handsome stranger Tony Morgan applies for a job, Essie finds herself involved in romance, blackmail, murder and even a rescue of her beau from a drunken lynch mob. Although Essie seems too silly to be managing an oil company, she is a good egg whom Romance readers may enjoy.
