As Tommy Lee Jones mentions, Hopalong Cassidy meant a lot to kids of that generation. William Boyd, who started his career in the Silent Film era, was a canny screen idol and businessman who found his niche as the overdressed ranch boss with an unyielding sense of fair play.

A lot of Hoppy can be found on the DVD market, but the Infinity/Falcon collection ($79.98) is hands down the best one as it cleans up 10 of the better Cassidy pictures and all of the TV shows, including the early ones that were edited from the features.

Tell them Tommy Lee sent you.
