I don’t know know which I admire more: the woman’s incredible artistic talent, or her amazing life story. Through the author’s research, it’s fair to say one would not exist without the other. Fire Light is the named artistic creation of drawings and paintings by Angel De Cora, a Winnebago from Nebraska, who broke new ground for her people with a formal education and went on to teach art at the Carlisle Indian School. Her story is compelling, as much as her art is enlightening.
