Roach, a retired professor, noted Texas folklorist and award winning author, is a native of Jacksboro, Jack County, Texas, has spent a lifetime writing about her beloved Southern Plains and the eight short stories are reminiscent of the best fiction of Tom Lea, Larry McMurtry and Max Evans.
