Five bank robbers convicted of murdering four Bisbee citizens, including a pregnant woman, are hanged in Tombstone.
While waiting on the gallows one of the condemned men observed it was a hot day. Another replied, “It’s going to be a lot hotter where we’re going.” It was the largest mass hanging in Arizona history.
