English author Winston Ramsey loves the history of the Old West. His passion for the historic places, towns, trails, events and characters is now showcased in his book On the Trail of the Old West: Then and Now (After the Battle, $32.95). A full-time resident of Essex County, England, Ramsey has spent many years, and traveled thousands of miles (not counting the miles from Great Britain) across the Western United States chronicling its past—and present in words and photographs. Extremely detailed with dozens of 19th century newspaper reports, hundreds of photos, and modern photos illustrating what visitors to historic towns and sites will see today when traveling across the West in search of history. A fun read, I recommend Ramsey’s Western history-travelogue. It is available for purchase at AftertheBattle.com.
