At the annual Historical Society of New Mexico Conference in Albuquerque on May 9, Max Evans will receive the 2015 Edgar Lee Hewett Award in honor of his lifetime of service to the people of New Mexico. Evans, who is 90 years old, is still writing and painting, with his last book published by the University of New Mexico Press last fall, Goin’ Crazy with Sam Peckinpah and All His Friends, co-written with Robert Nott.
