Terresita eventually toured the United States, amazing audiences with her healing powers, and for a time in the early 1900s, was the most famous Mexican woman in this country.

A distant relative, Luis Alberto Urrea, wrote the 2006 historical novel about her life called The Hummingbird’s Daughter.
