Where can I find a definitive biography on Jim Miller?

Christopher Olsen

Maniac #599

Burlington, Wisconsin

Jim Miller—a churchgoing, quiet man who abstained from alcohol and tobacco—was probably the most infamous killer for hire in the Old West.  “Deacon” (or “Killer Miller” or “Killin’ Jim”) had at least eight murders to his credit; Miller himself claimed the total was around 50. Lawman Pat Garrett may have been among his victims. I recommend reading Glenn Shirley’s Shotgun for Hire (University of Oklahoma Press) and Bill James’ Jim Miller: The Untold Story of a Texas Badman (Hennington Publishing).
