The U.S.-Mexico border has long been plagued by outlaws and bandidos from both sides of the line. Some of the most infamous to ply the no man’s land in the old days include: Clodoveo Chavez (shot dead near Yuma), Zwing Hunt (killed by Apaches), the Apache Kid (who was never caught), “Black Jack” Christian and “Three Fingered Jack” Dunlap (shot dead by a posse), Burt Alvord, Bravo Juan Yoas and Billy Stiles (escaped justice), and Augustin Chacon (hanged), among many others. The border was, and probably always will be, a hotbed of bad behavior.
