Cowboy’s Lament: A Life on the Open Range

While nearly everyone knows the song ”The Streets of Laredo,” not everyone knows it was actually a reworked old Irish tune called “The Cowboy’s Lament.”

While sharing the many adventures of Frank Maynard, this book also recounts how the ranch hand adapted the song, as revealed in his memoirs. Maynard lived a colorful life, expertly related as only Jim Hoy can do.
