ravenspringsWhen a Mexican compadre sets out for a Wyoming sheep camp yet never arrives, Jimmy Clevis agrees to find his friend. During his travels, he meets some odd seekers.

All trails end at two inns outside the small town of Raven Springs. Jimmy’s intuitive know-how helps him discover the remains of his friend as well as dozens of other unfortunates who’d registered at either the Falconer House or Empire Inn. Before he tells authorities, he must stay one more night at the Empire Inn—though it may be a night too many. Nesbitt’s tale of range land detection mounts from a brooding ominousness to as fiery a finish as the flames consuming those evil inns. —William Garwood
