The rumors are in the whispering stage, but it’s possible that by the time you read this, Fox Home Video will have officially announced that it will be releasing a huge John Ford box set.
Ford at Fox will consist of 25 features, many hitherto unseen, including a number of silents. The New York Times film writer Dave Kehr seems to have the bulk of the skinny, and he thinks the set will retail at $299.98 and will include documentaries, essays and other goodies. When I asked, a Fox rep slipped me an encouraging note, “It exists … but I’m not allowed to talk about it yet.”
