What makes the graphic novel and comic series Cowboys & Aliens particularly good is the way it unites Apaches and cowboys to fight a supertech society that feels about humans pretty much the same way the palefaces felt about the redskins. It’s clearly a revelation for at least some of the cowpokes to get a glimmer of their own pomposity. What’s even better is how they learn to wrangle the alien tech without knowing how it works—shoot this, throw that, explode that, a crude approach
