Return of the Gun (Fiction)

Again, Jon Stoudenmier, one of the West’s most invincible gunfighters, takes the same well-worn trail leading to trouble. In this story, he leaves behind his Arizona sweetheart to visit their future California dream hacienda. When he rides into the gold camp of El Cabrera and finds it in the pockets of greedy mining czar George Stanton, he readies his six-guns. After organizing the miners to revolt, he rides to his own property but is drygulched, receiving three bullet wounds. The resilient Stoudenmier challenges Stanton and his gunmen to meet him and a body of armed miners face-to-face. He gets the drop on Stanton and orders everyone, including himself, to drop their weapons—now it’s Stanton’s move. Through a blend reminiscent of TV’s Gunsmoke and Deadwood, this tale has enough twists to keep one turning the pages.
