John Heath is best known as the mastermind of the 1883 Bisbee Massacre, an attempted robbery gone bad that resulted in four deaths. He was lynched for his role.
Heath already had a long record by that time. He was arrested and tried several times in the Dallas area for rustling and robbery between 1878 and 1882. He also associated with pimps and whores and probably was involved with prostitution. Heath was never convicted, seemingly living a charmed life until a mob strung him up from a Tombstone telegraph pole.
