Harry Wheeler, the sheriff of Cochise County, and Rye Miles, the sheriff of Pima County, took charge of the posses on the ground (as well as an airplane) that helped serve the warrant on the Power boys. Both lawmen were considered “expert manhunters” because they had been Arizona Rangers. The posse members are wearing white cloths around their hatbands so they wouldn’t get mistaken as the culprits in a running gunfight. — C
