In this contemporary Christian Romance, Dr. Rachel Donovan is a chiropractor living in a small Arkansas town. Written in first person, present tense, the reader is never given a chance to reflect. Nonstop, Rachel babbles about her rocky relationships with her illegitimate 15-year-old daughter, her parents, her sister, her friends, her patients and the fabulously handsome bull rider named Jack who defends and protects her while she constantly brushes him away. Why gentleman Jack is attracted to this caustic bachelorette is hard to imagine. When they finally got married, I felt sorry for the poor cowboy.
