Joe Sparrow was scared of Print Olive, a man who had a long string of killings to his credit. And now Print was mad at Sparrow, who couldn’t pay off a debt. Sparrow decided to close the books—permanently.
In August 1866, Sparrow found Olive at a saloon in Trail City, CO. Olive was unarmed; Sparrow wasn’t. He shot and wounded his prey twice. As he fell, Olive cried, “My God, Joe, don’t murder me!” Sparrow walked over to the hurt man and shot him in the head, point blank.
