Billy Curtis may have been one of the most unusual heroes in any Western. Then again, his first Oater was…different.
Billy, all 4’2” of him, played the good guy sheriff (who finally arrests the bad guy and gets the girl) in 1938’s Terror in Tiny Town. The entire cast was comprised of little people, which led to many reviewers laughing at the concept and the movie.
His next movie got a better reception: The Wizard of Oz. And he also starred as Mordecai in Clint Eastwood’s 1973 Western High Plains Drifter.
