Army Lt. Charles Gatewood is best known for his role in convincing Geronimo to surrender to U.S. authorities in 1886.  But he was also connected to another big event in the Old West. In 1892, he was assigned to Fort McKinney, WY, ordered to help establish peace during the Johnson County Range War.  Some cowboys placed a bomb at the post exchange and Gatewood was crippled in the blast.  He never fu
