The Little Colorado River starts high on the slopes of Mount Baldy in the White Mountains of Eastern Arizona and flows north across the Colorado Plateau and Painted Desert to its confluence with the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. Native peoples of Northern Arizona and Eastern New Mexico, including the Navajos (above) have sustained their cultures for time immemorial on the life-giving waters of the 338-mile river.
