Tom Graham thought he’d gotten away from the death and destruction of Arizona’s Pleasant Valley War. He moved to Tempe to live in peace—or so he thought.
Graham was gunned down in 1892 while taking grain to a local flour mill. His old nemesis Ed Tewksbury was named as the gunman. He was tried twice. The first was tossed on a technicality. The second was a hung jury. Tewksbury died in 1904, after getting away with the last killing in Arizona’s deadliest feud which claimed up to 50 lives.
